Handjiska Trendafilova at the Public Administration Day: Dynamizied Collaboration with Montenegrin Public Administration Institutions Directly Benefits the Citizens

Ministry of the Public Administration of Montenegro held Public Administration Day Ceremony that gathered key actors in PAR, ambassadors in Montenegro and partner institutions. The Ceremony was an opportunity to promote the best official or employees from the ministries and administrations for the year 2022 who are the foundation of the future Montenegro’s successful public administration.
In the opening address, Premier Dritan Abazović gratitude participants for the great job done “We must be proud of everything that has been done. Behind you stands the vision of how Montenegro should develop in the future, how citizens should use technology and spend less time at counters”.
Minister Maraš Dukaj pointed out that the Ministry managed to complete many goals, primarily in cyber security and digitalisation, highlighting that the "country is much safer in the area of cyber security, at least 5 steps up towards the goal". Minister also announced signing an agreement in Brussels by which Montenegro becomes a full member of the European Union Program "Digital Europe. “This is a huge success for the public administration and the academic community, the IT sector, and the economy of Montenegro” pointed out Minister Dukaj.
ReSPA Director Maja Handjiska-Trendafilova, in her opening speech, outlined her satisfaction with dynamised cooperation between the ReSPA and Montenegrin institutions, especially the Ministry of Public Administration, the Government of Montenegro and the Human Resources Management Authority. Director Handjiska also announced the implementation of CAF in the Ministry of Public Administration, which will directly affect its better institutional performance and services to the citizens of Montenegro.
“Over the last three years, ReSPA implemented 140 activities aimed at developing individual and institutional capacities of the region’s public administration, in which around 700 civil servants from Montenegro empowered their skills while a significant number of Montenegrin experts were engaged. We supported the General Secretariat of the Government of Montenegro in developing a network of civil servants for strategic planning, as well as the Ministry of Public Administration in several key projects: the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy 2022-26; the development of the National Roadmap for Quality Management for the period 2022-24, Digital Strategy transformations and strategies for the information society and Digital Academy, and ILIAS e-learning platform of the Human Resources Authority, etc.
We are looking forward to new activities, improved regional cooperation, joint work with great teams from public institutions of Montenegro and, above all, results aimed at better policy and services, the development of society as a whole and a better life for our citizens" underscored ReSPA Director, Maja Handjiska-Trendafilova opening the event.
