ReSPA, in collaboration with IPRES – Istituto Pugliese di Ricerche Economiche e Sociali, is proud to present a new article titled “EU Enlargement and the Western Balkans: Current Trends and Future Perspectives.”

Authored by Roberta Garganese and Elisa Calo (IPRES) together with Gentian Xhaxhiu, ReSPA Programme Coordinator, the article explores key demographic, socio-economic, and governance trends shaping the region. It tracks the progress of EU integration and outlines the steps needed to ensure a smooth and sustainable path toward EU membership for the Western Balkans.

The article is featured in the July 2025 issue of the European Union Dossier, a biannual journal by the SRM Study Center dedicated to analyzing Europe’s role in an evolving geopolitical landscape.
