Executive Training on Transnational Policymaking & Good Governance: Governing Board Members Empowered to Navigate the Complexities of Policymaking and Effective Governance Practices

As a side event of the successfully finalized 57th Governing Board Meeting, the Executive Training equipped Governing Board Members and ReSPA team with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of policymaking in an interconnected world and promote effective governance practices while improving decision-making, accountability, and transparency in their governments/organization.

They explored the challenges and opportunities of policymaking in an interconnected world: the roles of various stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and businesses, and how they interact to shape policy outcomes. Also, they tackled important aspects of Good Governance Principles such as transparency, accountability, rule of law, ethics, stakeholder engagement, and anti-corruption measures, etc, guided by excellent lecturers:

Diane Stone, Chair of Public Policy at the School of Transnational Governance (STG) elaborated on global policy and transnational governance & good governance in PA and policymaking;

Giacomo Luchetta, Partner of Synestia Policy & Economics, tackled policymaking and governance in the context of better regulation;

Giovanni Faleg, Senior Analyst, shed light on strategic foresight in policy-making;

Florian Eder, Journalist and Adjunct Professor at STG navigated participants through writing about policy like a journalist;

Alexander Stubb, Director of STG and George Papaconstantinou, EUI Dean of Executive Education, Chair of Political Economy at STG discussed leadership in crises, walking participants through the lessons learned from their personal stories and crisis management. 

At the 57th Governing Board Meeting at the Senior Official level, Members discussed on 15th Governing Board Meeting at the Ministerial level, approved ReSPA Operations and Implementations of the PoW for the period 17 March-17 June 2023, adopted ReSPA Audit Report for 2022, and discussed other issues.
