Presentation of the results of the mental well-being survey

28 March 2024 Online Thematic Workshops

ReSPA is announcing the online presentation of the results of the mental well-being survey conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia, planned to be held on Thursday, 28 March 2024, at 13.00h with a duration of up to one hour.

The significance of employee well-being was underscored in the Strasbourg Declaration, which emphasised the imperative of contributing to health, safety, and overall well-being in the workplace. This sentiment was echoed in the Ghent ministerial declaration, where ministers highlighted the importance of prioritising all civil servants' health and well-being to promote mental and physical wellness.

Moreover, in the Joint Statement on the Occasion of High-Level Policy Dialogue "Attractive and Skilled Public Service Fit for Future," ministers from the Western Balkan administrations emphasised the value of paying close attention to the voices of public servants on various workplace matters. This included advocating for regular staff satisfaction surveys and employee feedback as crucial evidence-based tools to guide decision-making and drive reforms and human resource management practices forward.

A survey on the mental well-being of civil servants was conducted first in Serbia in October 2022 with the support of UNDP. The same methodology was used to conduct surveys in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia with the support of ReSPA. The surveys gain insight into the mental well-being of civil servants in terms of their emotional, social, and psychological well-being. It investigates whether significant differences exist based on the demographic characteristics of the respondents, such as gender, age, place of employment, economic and health status, and job position.
