Executive Training: Building the Common Regional Market
The Executive Training: Building the Common Regional Market, taking place from 2–5 December 2024 in Tirana, will bring together policymakers, experts, and academics to advance regional integration efforts in the Western Balkans. ReSPA joined forces with RCC and other partners is co-delivering this event which focuses on the implementation of the Common Regional Market (CRM) initiative as a critical step toward deeper European integration.
The opening session will feature remarks from prominent leaders, including Ms. Majlinda Bregu, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Mr. Endrit Yzeiraj, Albania's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Maja Handjiska Trendafilova, ReSPA Director. This will set the stage for a rich discussion led by regional and international experts on topics related to the fundamentals of regional and European integration, with ample opportunities for participant networking.
Over the course of the training, participants will explore key aspects of the CRM, including its achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. Sessions will delve into the EU Internal Market's components and implications for the Western Balkans, as well as specific policy areas such as the free movement of goods, services, and people, and horizontal trade measures. The agenda will also highlight cross-cutting issues like human capital development, migration, and the brain drain, providing practical insights for policymakers. The final day will focus on the digital transformation agenda and effective communication strategies to foster regional collaboration. Interactive group exercises will encourage participants to develop solutions to integration challenges. The training will conclude with a forward-looking discussion on the role of regional cooperation in enhancing competitiveness and building a sustainable future for the Western Balkans.
