ReSPA Director Maja Handjiska-Trendafilova met today with Tamara Srzentić, Minister of Public Administration, Digital Society and Media of Montenegro, to discuss mutual collaboration's advancement towards the  improvement of public administration and governance.

"Due to ever-changing processes in the public administrations that are accelerating and digitising to put the citizens first, the civil servants need constant learning and empowerment.

In this process, ReSPA takes a leading role in the region, and I am proud to continue on the same track with an upbeat trend," said Handjiska-Trendafilova at the opening of the meeting.

"Today, we outlined outstanding blueprints for cooperation. Through a variety of capacity building activities, ReSPA will support the work of Digital Academy. This support builds on the previous contribution by ReSPA to the development of the Digital Transformation Strategy of Montenegro. Enhanced efforts are also directed to strengthen the administrative capacities for EU accession negotiations and utilise EU funds," highlighted Handjiska-Trendafilova.

Handjiska and Srzentić discussed the significance of the forthcoming Western Balkans PAR Summit and the high-level political commitment toward innovative, resilient, transparent and inclusive public services. They also stressed the importance of showcasing exemplary transformation initiatives and best practices in the region through the Public Administration Awards initiative implemented by ReSPA, whose second edition is being launched shortly.

The meeting also served as a good forum to discuss the importance of cooperation with the CSO sector, business community, the region's talented youth, and vibrant research and academic communities in pursuing lasting transformation of the public administration and governance.

Minister Srzentić praised ReSPA for the support provided so far and for being an important reform and change agent in the area of PAR in WB.

ReSPA will continue to provide tangible and practical solutions for the civil servants by realising tailored program activities developed to meet their needs and provide the best possible solutions for our citizens. The ultimate goal is to contribute to effective governance and prosperous societies.
