Podgorica, 19 February 2024
ReSPA Director Maja Handjiska-Trendafilova hosted a meeting with Marash Dukaj, Minister of Public Administration of Montenegro, along with Naim Gjokaj, State Secretary of the Ministry, Marija Hajduković, Director General for Strategic Planning in Public Administration, International Cooperation, and IPA Funds and Milica Pajović, Chief of the Cabinet.
Director Handjiska-Trendafilova expressed a warm welcome and highlighted the fruitful collaboration between ReSPA and the Ministry, especially in the area of digitalisation, service delivery, European integration, and quality management: “We wished a warm welcome to the Minister and the team in ReSPA’s new home – an additional vibrant space, resource and potential for all regional partners and actions contributing to stronger and capacitated institutions. The upcoming year entails a dynamic work plan spanning interoperability, cybersecurity, quality management, human resource development, EU integration, diverse mobility and on-demand programs, and rich regional policy dialogue on PAR matters. These initiatives are pivotal for public administrators in the region, including Montenegrin teams, as they navigate towards more digitalised and citizens-focused governance on the exhilarating path to European Union membership,” underscored Director Handjiska-Trendafilova.
Minister Dukaj praised ReSPA's support and collaboration between the two institutions: “We consider ReSPA to be part of us, after so many realised activities and those ahead of us. "We rely on ReSPA support not only in the digitalisation and process of accession to the European Union but also in strengthening the capacities needed for the moment when Montenegro becomes a member of the European Union”.
The Minister and the delegation took the opportunity to tour the new ReSPA offices and interact with the ReSPA team when Director Handjiska-Trendafilova reiterated the commitment to the ongoing fruitful collaboration with the Ministry and invited them to organise events at ReSPA's premises.
