Civil Servants from the WB Engaged in a Dynamic Exchange and Mutual Learning Experience with their Counterparts from Portugal's National Institute for Public Administration and Agency for Administrative Modernisation
22-24 April 2024, Lisbon, Portugal
The INA team generously shared their expertise spanning training methodologies, scholarly inquiry, and technical support to drive innovation and modernisation within public administration. This knowledge transfer directly benefited 13 civil servants hailing from various training institutions/departments, Civil Service Agencies/Authorities, and Ministries of Public Administration, focusing on Human Resources (HR) management and professional development.
At INA, participants were immersed in comprehensive discussions on initiatives geared towards HR practices, focusing on training, performance management, and fostering innovation and modernisation. At AMA, through insightful dialogues and practical demonstrations, they gained valuable insights into how Portugal has leveraged digital technologies to streamline public services and enhance citizen satisfaction. Moreover, at the LABX Center for Innovation in the public sector, they discovered how LABX serves as a hub for testing and refining new ideas and solutions, fostering a culture of innovation within the public administration.
The working visit provided an invaluable platform for dialogue on cutting-edge concepts such as leadership cultivation, digital transformation, and strategic foresight. These discussions aimed to equip civil servants with the requisite skills and competencies to navigate forthcoming challenges adeptly. Networking opportunities provided during the exchange allowed participants to connect with like-minded professionals from Portugal, fostering ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing.
"Hosting the Western Balkans administrations in Portugal was a remarkable opportunity to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and expertise. The networking opportunities created during the visit fostered collaboration and ongoing dialogue, strengthening our collective determination to deliver better services to our citizens through shared learning and cooperation" said Abel CARREIRA from Instituto Nacional da Administraçao (Portugal), a member of the INA board of directors.
