23 – 25 April 2024, Copenhagen, Denmark

The Serbian team, comprised of the Acting Assistant Minister for Good Governance, the Assistant Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation, and Independent Advisors, collaborated with representatives from the Danish Agency for Public Finance and Management (under the Ministry of Finance), KL – Local Government in Denmark (an association representing the 98 Danish municipalities), and the municipality of Herlev.

Their objective was to enhance citizen satisfaction with public services and foster bilateral cooperation in PAR initiatives. The Serbian delegation gleaned valuable insights and best practices crucial for enhancing the implementation of targeted activities outlined in the PAR Strategy Action Plan.

At KL - Local Government in Denmark, the Serbian team received updates on the latest advancements in local government leadership, project implementation mechanisms, citizen engagement strategies, and the pivotal role of research and advisory centres in promoting local democracy.

Additionally, discussions with the Danish Agency for Public Finance and Management provided the Serbian delegation with comprehensive insights into the organizational framework of the Danish administration, emphasizing principles of independence, evidence-based services, and client collaboration.

To further enrich their understanding, the delegation visited the municipality of Harlev, where they were introduced to the municipality's quality assurance systems for service provision and citizen satisfaction measurement practices.

Furthermore, a productive working meeting with H.E. Mirjana ŽIVKOVIĆ, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Denmark, facilitated discussions on ongoing Serbian-Danish collaborations, potential areas for future cooperation, and the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries, currently being prepared by the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Overall, this exchange bolstered mutual understanding and laid the groundwork for continued collaboration between Serbia and Denmark in the realm of public administration and local governance.
