ReSPA and Transport Community Green Mobility Summer School to Enhance Sustainable Transport in the Western Balkans

The Green Mobility Summer School, convened experts and stakeholders from across the Western Balkans and the EU to discuss sustainable mobility solutions and future-oriented transport policies.

The event opened with speeches from H.E. Tomáš SZUNYOG, the EU Special Representative, Ljupka SILJANOSKA, Deputy Director of the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat (TCT), and Ivana PETRIČEVIĆ, Knowledge Management and Partnership Officer at ReSPA. They underscored the critical role of cooperation and innovation in achieving sustainable mobility targets.

Throughout the first day, discussions focused on the EU’s strategies for green and smart mobility in the Western Balkans, emphasizing regional and governmental commitments to sustainable practices. Participants also explored the intersections of transport, energy, and environmental policies, alongside sustainable urban mobility planning.

The agenda covered various topics, including digital logistics along core corridors and on the national level sustainable urban logistics plans, infrastructure funding structures, mechanisms (IPA, WBIF, New Growth Plan), climate-proofing and resilient infrastructure. Additionally, attendees examined urban mobility projects in Pristina, gaining practical insights into applying sustainable mobility solutions within the city.
