A new book entitled “Legal Mechanisms for Prevention of Corruption in Southeast Europe with Special Focus on the Defense Sector” has been published by the Institute of Comparative Law in Belgrade, Serbia.
This comparative-legal study analyses six checks and balances (parliamentary oversight; specialized anti-corruption bodies; arrangements for handling conflicts of interests; arrangements for freedom of access to information; arrangements for internal and external audit; ombudsman institution) set in place to prevent corruption and several areas that pose significant corruption/misuse risks (public procurement/asset disposal; human resources management; control of intelligence agencies). The book pays special attention to the legal mechanisms for the prevention of corruption in the defense sector.
The publication is written both in English and Serbian language and could be of interest to civil servants and researchers of all the Western Balkans region.
